When you need Recovery
- the HU won’t boot or hangs on the splash screen after a failed OTA update;
- black infotainment screen after an interrupted firmware flash;
- after unsuccessful firmware experiments.
Recovery reinstalls the entire firmware. The image is downloaded automatically and matched to your car’s VIN.
What you need
- a Windows laptop with the LIXIANGTOOLS app;
- a UART adapter — a bricked head unit is not visible over a regular USB cable;
- the Qualcomm HS-USB driver — installed with the app and also available separately on the Drivers page;
- a stable internet connection: the firmware image is downloaded from our server.
How recovery works
- Buy a Recovery HU license and sign in to LIXIANGTOOLS.
- Connect the adapter to the HU service port and to your laptop.
- Select “Recovery HU” — the app picks the image by VIN and flashes all partitions.
- Do not disconnect power or the cable until it finishes.

Frequently asked questions
Can I recover the HU without a service center?
Yes, recovery is performed in the LIXIANGTOOLS app on your laptop. A UART adapter is required to connect a bricked unit.
Where do I get the firmware?
You don’t need to look for it: the app automatically downloads the right image for your car’s VIN.
Will my settings and apps be kept?
Recovery is a full firmware reinstall, so user data and installed apps are not kept. After recovery you may need to disable the QR screen and open ADB again.
What if the recovery was interrupted?
Don’t disconnect the device — message @LITools_support_bot on Telegram with your VIN and a screenshot, and we’ll help you finish.
