What open ADB gives you
ADB (Android Debug Bridge) is service-level access to the head unit. While it is closed, you can’t install your own apps on the Lixiang infotainment system or lift the manufacturer’s restrictions. After OPEN ADB:
- install any apps on all screens: navigation, music, video, messengers;
- Region Unlock, LDMevo diagnostics, QR screen removal and data traffic restore become available;
- access is retained after the HU reboots.
When you need a UART adapter
On 2024+ Lixiang vehicles with OTA 8.0 or newer, ADB is usually closed and Windows can’t see the head unit over a USB cable. For the first ADB unlock you need a UART adapter (10,000 ₽, shipped via CDEK) — it connects to the Type-C service port on the HU board. Once OPEN ADB succeeds, all other operations work over a regular USB cable and the adapter is no longer needed. One adapter works for all your Lixiang vehicles.
How to open ADB — step by step
- Download LIXIANGTOOLS for Windows and register (an e-mail address is required).
- Buy an OPEN ADB license on this page or in the Telegram bot.
- If ADB is closed, connect the UART adapter to the HU service port and to your laptop. Drivers are installed with the app and are also available separately on the Drivers page.
- Switch on the ignition and select “OPEN ADB” in the app. The process takes 5–10 seconds.
- The HU reboots and comes up in ADB mode — from then on, you work over a regular USB cable.

Do I need to remove the head unit?
No. The HU stays in place and the firmware is not downgraded. For the first ADB unlock, you only need to connect a UART adapter to the service port under the center console trim.
Does ADB stay open after a reboot?
Yes, access is retained after the head unit reboots.
Does it work on OTA 8.6.1?
Yes. New OTA versions are usually supported within 1–2 weeks of release.
Can I do it myself, without a service center?
