How to open ADB on Li Auto (Lixiang) L9 and L7: step-by-step guide

Why ADB is closed on the L9 and L7
ADB (Android Debug Bridge) is service access to the head unit. On recent Li Auto firmware it is closed and stock app installation is blocked. While ADB is closed, you can't install navigation, music, video or messengers, and you can't run Region Unlock, Data Traffic Restore or LDMevo diagnostics — they all need open ADB.
OTA version limits
- 2024+ Li Auto with OTA 8.0 or newer — ADB is usually closed and Windows can't see the head unit over a USB cable. The first unlock needs the UART adapter, connected to the Type-C service port on the HU board.
- OTA 8.6.1 — supported.
- New OTA versions are usually added within 1–2 weeks of release. If an update has just come out, check with @LITools_support_bot whether it's supported before installing it.
- No firmware downgrade and no HU removal needed.
What you need
- a Windows laptop and the LIXIANGTOOLS app (sign up with an e-mail);
- an OPEN ADB license;
- the UART adapter and a USB 3.0 → Type-C cable — if ADB is closed;
- drivers are installed with the app; separately — on the Drivers page.
How to open ADB — step by step
- Download LIXIANGTOOLS and sign up.
- Buy the OPEN ADB license on the website or via @LITools_pay_bot.
- Move the center console trim on the driver's side and find the Type-C service port on the HU board.
- Connect the adapter to the HU with a USB 3.0 → Type-C cable and the adapter to your laptop.
- Turn the ignition on and select “OPEN ADB” in the app. It takes 5–10 seconds.
- The HU reboots in ADB mode — from now on use a regular USB cable; the adapter is no longer needed.

- install apps on all screens — driver, passenger and rear — free;
- Yandex Maps and Navigator, IVI, RUTUBE and other apps.
